Bixby Bulletin

This is a family blog. Visitors are always welcome. We'll love your comments! In fact, the Bixbys have always been very hospitable. But remember: this is a family blog. It is about us. Oh-- and Family, remember that visitors drop in any time they want. So let's keep things in the closet and under the bed that should stay out of sight to visitors. Let's be real, but as Dad used to say, "Remember your last name!"

A Wonderful Surprise!!

The church surprised us during the Sunday School hour with a special service for our 40th wedding anniversary. There were special numbers by all the age groups/families and testimonies about our ministry here at the church. They then gave us a gift for a get-a-way to Charleston sometime during our furlough. It was very sweet and touching. We will certainly miss everyone here even as we are getting excited about going to see all of you!

40 years-- and counting!

Tim and Ruth and the M and M's went all out to make our anniversary special. It will definitely go down as one we will never forget! We had a delicious meal of steak (grilled by Tim) and other yummy things (created by Ruth) and served with flair (by Micaiah and Miriam). Plus a beautiful bouquet of flowers to create the mood.

The First Sunday!

We had a very nice Sunday today with Tim and Ruth and the kids! Everyone was thrilled to have them here and enjoyed their sharing time during SS. We had a special meal of shish-kabobs and then crepes for dessert. Micaiah and Miriam both did great.

They are here ;-)

Here are a few shots of the big day (long day for them!). They were able to see Bob and Jennie and kids and were met in Bordeaux by two bordeaux fans. We did take pictures but my little boy accidentally erased them :-) Anyway, we are glad they are here and are enjoying them immensely.

Another quick visit with Dan

Last night Dan came to our house. We were glad to see him one more time before he left. This was taken early this morning right before he left to the airport. Stefan was still a little sleepy, but not too sleepy to give some snuggles.

Click here for photos of a farewell lunch for Ruth.

Saying goodbye.

Some final shots. Miriam and her new doll who was quickly named Emily.

Monday evening we had dinner with Uncle Steve and Aunt Donna, Amber and Josh, and Sam. We had a nice time with them!

Monday morning some men came to help load the trailer and transport belongings to Hampton Park. They will be shipped out this Monday and will arrive in France on July 23rd!

Visit with Dan

Last night we got to go see Dan at his hotel. He is on business about an hour away so we drove there to meet him when he got off of work. We enjoyed dinner together, and then came back and Brian and Stefan enjoyed the pool at the hotel. After getting completely warn out there we went back to Dan's suite and had some ice cream. Thanks, Dan, for a wonderful visit. We really enjoyed seeing you. Brenda, we're still a little bummed that you didn't come, but we're trying to get over it!
