Does anyone have any good songs on God's Word / Sound doctrine? Pastor is preaching on I Timothy 4:9-16 on Sunday and I'm struggling with a service. I always do the same songs (How Firm a Foundation, etc.) on this topic and am looking for something new and fresh.
Johanna knows one--our church sang it every Wednesday for a month! I don't remember it though!
ReplyDeleteWe used "Source of All Truth" by Dan Forrest (published by Kids 4 Truth) in our Bible Club ministry. It's a song for kids, but I thought that I mention it. It can also be sung as a round. The text by Eileen Berry is rich and picturesque......Brian
ReplyDeleteAlso, "Thy Word is Like a Garden, Lord" has a really fresh text, and it is hardly sung in most churches. Dan, how about writing a text yourself and setting it in 4-part hymn style? Just a suggestion....:-)Brian

"Thy Word Is Like a Garden" would be my suggestion as well. It's a personal favorite. There's also "Holy Bible, Book Divine".
ReplyDeleteAlso, "Wonderful Words of Life", "O Word of God Incarnate" (it speaks of both Christ and the Word of God), "The Bible Stands" ...
