This is a family blog. Visitors are always welcome. We'll love your comments! In fact, the Bixbys have always been very hospitable. But remember: this is a family blog. It is about us. Oh-- and Family, remember that visitors drop in any time they want. So let's keep things in the closet and under the bed that should stay out of sight to visitors. Let's be real, but as Dad used to say, "Remember your last name!"

Getting ready for the big Weekend!
We have been busy beavers around here getting ready for the MMT. They should be here in about an hour. We have 8 beds made and ready in the church salle, plus others in the bedrooms. There are 32 of them this year and they are staying in lots of different places. Quite a few are going to be with students in the dorms---that should be an experience! Besides just the "have to" getting ready, we varnished the porch furniture and made a little coffee center so the people staying here (13
plus us) can have early morning coffee whenever they want! Anyone else want to stay here? We are having the cookout on the porch tonight, Ruth!

Well, well, well!!!!! Quite the five star hotel. How far ahead do we have to reserve??? ;-)
ReplyDeletethe cookout on the porch sounds like fun! i hope it goes well. sounds like they come at an interesting time for the bordeaux area--maybe a striking contrast to all the fete de la musique's content downtown.
ReplyDeletea bow around the towels? mama mia--we've come up in the world! I hope you all have a really good time.
ReplyDeletenot sure what you mean, Donna---there is a towel, washcloth and cookie on each bed. nice team.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like there is a green bow around the towel, non?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the furniture looks great!
ReplyDeleteNice. Fun. Hard work. Good job!
ReplyDeleteMom, tell Heather Davis I said Hi...
ReplyDeleteSo the MMT in Bordeaux again. What memories! Just watch out for anyone who makes apple pie, Dad ... (She probably won't be a future daughter-in-law.)
ReplyDeleteFor those of you who have never heard that story, when Dad heard that Tim and I were "developing a relationship", he told Tim he couldn't think of anyone he would rather see him marry. Of course, he thought I was the one who had made apple pie when the MMT was at his house, but that wasn't me!
And we are very glad he didn't marry her! nothing against her, of course, in case someone who may distantly know her reads this, but she just wasn't/isn't RUTH!
ReplyDeleteLooks GREAT!
