Happy Birthday--a day late!

It's pretty bad when you live in the same house and still forget the birthday! In my defense, we celebrated the day before!! Johanna turned 24 yesterday--don't feel too badly about our forgetting her birthday, she got spoiled the night before, and Brian, of course, didn't forget! She did have to remind the rest of us, though!! By next birthday, she'll be Johanna Hanson...hmmm not so sure about that one!

Where would we all be today if it weren't for our dear mother who holds us all together? And who could resist posting a picture of Mom in her "frustrated" stance (which is, of course, completely posed!)? Happy 59th, Mom! WE LOVE YOU! 

Distinguished Rockford Guests

We enjoyed visiting with some Rockford folks last night right here in Greenville. We're pleased that the Cooks are entrusting their son to us, and can't wait to put him to work.

We also enjoyed visiting a few minutes with Joy--who is definitely a woman on the run. 

Isabelle's Birthday Party - finally!

In Memory of Grandpa Morgan's 89th Birthday

Yesterday would have been Grandpa's 89th if he were still living. I thought it would be nice to put up a few pictures and remind us of how special he was to us and how much he loved us and we loved him. 

She turned 5--on Sunday!!!

A taste of our wild weekend.

We had a wonderfully wild weekend which started with picking Shannon Brown up from O'Hare on Thursday. We took him downtown and had lunch and then "Bob paced" it through Millenium Park and then body pressed onto a train (metro) to go and see Betsy play a cranky Lucy in "Your a good man Charlie Brown". Friday Bob then went to a bugle corp tournament with Shannon and Chris (Bob will have to blog those pix) and Saturday back to the burbs of Chicago for a cookout at the Altizers and another showing of "Charlie" with our Global Grace friends. By Monday we were tired, but not too tired for swedish pancakes!!

Jacob Bergum

Brenda, Isabelle and I went to visit Jacob in the hospital the other day. He has so improved. He talks non-stop, and loves to play games.
It was a blessing to be with him and to see him improve. He is actually coming home today for a couple of days before a major surgery on Saturday to put back his cranium. Pray for him. He is very grateful (and enjoys expressing it) to those who have and are praying for him.
I just thought you might like the update. 

India

Thought you might like to compare my travels -- quite the contrast between the luxury of Dubai and the cast system of India. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Perhaps, but it is impossible to capture the experience of driving the streets of Bombay in a picture. It was a great experience.

Our Saturday

It's official!

The pictures pretty much tell the story, but Brian arranged for a nice picnic with goblets, sparkling grape juice, music, and a mountain top location! The date is set: December 19, 2006. Lot's to do, little time to do it!


 

1st airplane ride with Papa Pahnke

M & M received their first airplane ride with Papa Pahnke yesterday. It was hot up there! (We never got up high enough for the atmosphere to cool off.) But it sure was exciting!!!

Raleigh visit

We changed clothes and left Spartanburg after our service on Sunday night, and arrived in Raleigh just before 1 a.m. We had a good time in downtime Raleigh yesterday, and visiting some people from around here that I hadn't seen in quite some time. Today we plan to head to the airport for an airplane ride with Papa Pahnke.
