Arizona State Fair

We've been in three different cities in the last few months that were hosting their state fair. This time, we decided it was time we try it out! So yesterday we packed up our PB & J sandwiches and spent most of the day in Phoenix at the fair, capping off the evening with a genuine Arizona rodeo. We had a great time together as a family (despite the 90-some degree heat)! You can view more pictures of our day here.

Voting as if we aren't voting. . .

Piper is right, I think.

Selecting a Kastle for Keisers!

We just got home from two and a half days in the Dordogne. We stayed at the Coste's lovely place again. Roy and Lou Ann just loved it. They also loved the pretty trees since they see no color change at all in Spain. We had lots of fun. Dad had never been through the castle Castelnaud before so he enjoyed that--we all did. It is a kid's paridise and I can't wait to take some of my grandkids through it!!! Look here for some more pictures! (Keisers never decided which castle they wanted to retire in!)

My Sunday morning Dudes!

Corban is feeling pretty smart wearing his first tie!  He made sure that it was the first thing Bob noticed when he came down to breakfast!  Mom loves the big cheery smiles after a very long and rough night of several asthma treatments.

Ben's Field trip

On Friday, I had the privilege of going with Ben on his field trip to a local camp. There were several "challenges" that they were encouraged to try. Ben decided to take the biggest one and went to the top and walked across the beam.

There were also several team challenges that were quite fun and educational. All things that could only be done if they worked together as a team. It was a good day, and I am glad I was able to go with him. My camera batteries went dead, but not before I got a little video of him up high.

Bonikowskys in Bordeaux!

We enjoyed having Andy and Mimi and Mark and Rachel here for a couple of days. We took them to St. Emillion--it was cold and rainy but we enjoyed the fellowship. Other than that, all we did was chat and eat! It was fun catching up and hope they visit again soon.

Two special kids!

Breakfast in bed...

It isn't as much fun when it has to be at 6:15 in the morning! But she was a good sport. It's hard to believe my wife is old enough to have a 14 year old.

Remember the Alamo!

Today our travels took us through the beautiful city of San Antonio. We got to visit the famous Alamo Fort, and take a ride on the Rio de San Antonio. We really enjoyed the city. You can see more pictures here.

The Three Church Retreat 2008 is History

Here are some pictures of the retreat. It was a success in all ways and we are thankful to the Lord. We had our "moments" (oh la la, the kitchen was so unequipped this year!) but all in all everyone loved it. You have some tired parents, but what is new. Getting ready for Andy and Mimi and kids (only 2 now!) now. We are excited to have them visit.

My Surprise Party!

My mom and church friends surprised me last Friday for my 14th birthday. I came home from school and they were all (15 girls total) at my house! I was so surprised I almost started crying. Almost all of them spent the night. We did some crazy things like going to McDonald's in this green facemask as you can see in one of the pictures. I think my mom went crazy but we had loads of fun!

Istanbul, Turkey

Hello, family. I am back from Istanbul, Turkey, where we had a very good training class, with students from 9 different countries. As always, it is good to be back home. We are enjoying a week off of school and work - a much needed staycation.

Love you all. Daniel.

Greetings from Panama City, FL

We've just completed a weekend missions conference here in Panama City. We enjoyed visiting with the people of the church, our hosts have been fantastic, and we even got to visit the beach on Saturday morning! The jellyfish were out in droves on Saturday, so it was a great educational field trip. The kids enjoyed playing in the water, too. I don't know if I've ever seen such clear blue water before. It's a little hard to remember that it is actually October, but we are enjoying a different kind of fall.

Bordeaux By Night!

Nati got some really cool "effect" pictures last night when we went downtown. I thought you might enjoy seeing them. He and Markus left this morning at 5:30 so should be well on their way home by now. We had a great visit--just not enough "tete-a-tete" time!

St. Emillion with Nati and Markus

After partage today, Dad made his famous trip to St. Emillion. Tim, Ruth and Jo will remember Markus from the Guetli. The only time that he has been here was when Tim and Ruth were here in 2000. We are enjoying our visit.
