Breakfast in bed...

It isn't as much fun when it has to be at 6:15 in the morning! But she was a good sport. It's hard to believe my wife is old enough to have a 14 year old.

Happy Birthday, Elise. I was wondering where the birthday blog was and was coming in here to do one and your dad had blogged! I hope you have a great day--even if you do have to go to school:-)

Happy Birthday. We just said good-bye to the Bonikowsky's and I looked at the blog. Your dad was quick this time!! I am not sure I would have been too happy at that time in the morning! Next year ask your mom for lunch in bed :-)

Grandpa and I must have been writing at the same time, but I am not sure why he put GrandMA ...oh well. I agree with him!

Happy Birthday, Elise!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love you. You do look pretty beautiful, even first thing in the morning! What a good sport you are. I hope your 14th birthday is pretty special. What else do you have planned for the day? Of course your mom and dad are going to let you play hookey from school, right? ;-) Actually, I always enjoyed going to school on my birthday, b/c it expanded the number of happy birthday wishes I would receive.

Is it really chilly there? I am sitting beside a hotel window that looks out at some nearby tan-colored mountains in Mexico. The grass is sparse and brown, and we can see a broad plateau of pueblos from our 3rd floor window. The west is a different kind of world! But then ... you know that, don't you, since you visited not too long ago at all, right?

Happy Birthday, Dear Sweet Elise! I did a bday blog last night, so that all I had to do was publish it this morning and then I forgot before I left the house. So sorry, but I'll do it when I get home tonight--which will be about 9pm my time! I hope you had a wonderful day. I told all my students it was your birthday. They weren't that impressed, though I'm not sure why. However, they did say that I was old since I had a niece that age! I don't think I would have been that good of a sport at 6 in the morning at that age, but now I wouldn't mind being awakened at 6 am for bfast in bed! (Since my get up time is 5 am!!!) How the years have flown! I hope you had a good day!
I love you!

Awww... Thank you for all your birthday wishes. I have had a good day so far. I just got home from school where they sang to me in two of my classes. I like being fourteen! I love you!
