Celebration Dinner...
Patience was the head coordinator of my 40th Birthday Dinner. She did a beautiful job of setting the table for our "Meat Fondue" meal. It was all lovely!! Although I was NOT allow to peek at the table she did lift the rules on not letting me in the kitchen MUCH to her Dad's relief!! :-) We had a wonderful time as a family and I will cherish the memories!!

Calendar
Today the calendar you should have received,
So now, a very small thing you must heed.
Each month a picture is put on display,
So a guess for the place I would ask you to pay.
The photographer, too, should be aknowledged with cause,
So, send in your guess and receive an applause.
(If you are the donor, no guess you may make!)
So wait for the first, then your guess I will take!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Today Jennie turns 40--but who would think it to look at her? Jennie, you are a beautiful, gracious, god-fearing lady, wife, mother, daugher-in-law, sister-in-law, cousin, and aunt to all of us, and we love you dearly. Thank you for the godly example and encouragement you are to each of us. Happy 40th!

A Tea Party!
This evening Micaiah and Miriam came over, and Miriam brough her new gift that she had just received from the Nicholls--a tea set! We had a wonderfully fun "tea" party. Tea was milk, sugar was Nesquick! (It doesn't get better than that! :-) ) Lest you think by looking at the picture of the cup, that it was a large cup, I made sure we posed in such a way as to show the real size! :-)

Christmas Lights!
Okay, I realize the conversation about Christmas lights took place about 6 weeks ago, but I just came across this picture and had to share. Notice the BIG lights?!! And notice that no one seems to be around?!

Corban celebrates turning TWO!!
Corban enjoyed the cake, balloons, gifts and friends that gathered this evening to help us celebrate his TWO years of life!! What a joy he has been! We marvel even this week at the new words that he can say, "unCH" being a favorite since it is about eating and the cool "CH" sound at the end!! And his trucks sounds are the best in the family!! :-)
And his smiles, kisses and hugs are savored dearly by us all!
Grandma Bixby's 85 Birthday Party
Uncle Steve had to work. He did show up toward the end. Aunt Becky's family had already scheduled their family Christmas. But, we were 66 people in attendance! Not bad! It is pretty pathetic, though, when you have to introduce yourself to relatives!
The name of this game is: Can you name that face? You're better than I if you can!
Grandma with some of the great-grandkids present.
Just some fun family shots.

We have a blog called The Reading Room
That seems to be headed toward doom.
So we have decided to challenge our kin.
It won’t be hard and all can win!
For any book that you read this year.
We will buy another for you, dear.
The only catch is that you have to post
And tell us what you liked the most!
This challenge is for each generation,
Kids, in-laws and grands—attention!
Starting today if you read a book,
We’ll read your report and take a look.
Then let us know what your favorites are
And you will have another one from a far!

The Birthday Party
The Lego theme (which originated with dear friend and creative soul mate, Judy Hurst) was pulled off very effectively and cute! Stefan had certainly learned how to dig into the cake and enjoyed all the attention. Johanna did a great job on the giant cupcake cake. Notice that the decorations on the cake are actually lego gummies!!
Some of the very dear friends and family that were at the party. It was a wonderful evening!
(Becky and Evan Wilbur; Tim, Ruth and Miriam; G-Gma Bixby and Tim; Judy Hurst, Becky Wilbur, Robert Hurst; Ruth, Grandparents Hanson; Liz Cole, Hannah and Erin Hurst)
Here is a link to all the pictures.
