PAINTING!

The living room has definietly changed in the past 24hrs! It isn't done, but it is well on it's way and, I LOVE IT!
I was a wee bit nervous about it, but I am thrilled. I can't wait to get the other walls done. The rust color really makes the fire place pop! Paulette, a friend for grad days, came by in the afternoon for a couple of hours and chatted while we painted. It was fun to reconnect with her. I'll of course post pictures when it is done done, but I couldn't wait to at least give you a sneak peak!

Thanksgiving fun continues

Thursday evening I went over to the US and AD's to play games and meet Naomi's boyfriend, David and his brother Andrew. We had a lot of fun teaching the Minnick (from Australia) boys how to play dominoes.
The next night, Friday, I went back over, and it was just family--Ben and Beka joined us that night. It was great to go and relax, laugh, and be crazy. I love them, even if they are weird!!! ;-)

Thanksgiving Dinner in Greenville!

The Bixby gathering included about 37 Bixbys from 4 generations.
It was a nice meal and actually quieter than most. I stayed on after most everyone else had left and enjoyed a nice time chatting with UP and AT; Hannah and Vic; Jordahls, Aunt Ruth, and Grandma.
'Twas a very nice day.

Thanksgiving in Pessac!

We had a really nice Thanksgiving, but one thing we didn't do was take pictures! Here are a few. We did eat first (of course!) and then we had a great time of sharing. This year we went "mod" and sang Christmas carols. It was fun. Testimonies were great, too. It is 9 pm and Christina just finished the dishes. She goes to collage in the fall so this is her last year. She has been coming for thanksgiving since she was 3!! BTW, the turkey was delicious --and we forgot to take a pic!!!

Sights around Las Vegas, NM

The primary thing you see here are is the church that used to be Las Vegas Bible Church back in the day. The plaque says, "The first Jewish house of worship in New Mexico territory moved to this site 1922." It was a synagogue before it became LVBC. Now it is a Roman Catholic chapel for the university students. The two street pictures are standing in front of the church looking down either direction. The college (bottom middle) is within walking distance.

Below is just some of the countryside in the greater surrounding area.

The Bixby Homestead

Here it is! We put together a little video of our tour of the old Bixby house. Sorry the footage isn't all the best, but it at least gives you an idea of what it is like. Dad, the hills behind the house are drastically changed since the highway department moved in, as you'll see.

Brian's Ordination

Yes, I know they are a bit late, but hey, better late than never, right? I just thought these were some special faces that you would all like to see. It was so good to have Chris and Lydia down/over/up/across--whatever it is! They came Saturday evening and left Sunday afternoon. It was great to visit with them, and nice for Jo and Brian to have a little family there to make the event more special. As you can see, missing both the morning and afternoon naps, made Stefan quite tired and clingy to his mommy--but he took it all in stride, poor little guy!

Mmmm ...

We enjoyed our family birthday date to The Cheesecake Factory in downtown Phoenix tonight. That (and a shopping trip to Kohl's ;-) helped to complete my Arizona birthday experience.

Pray for Jon and Amy

Obviously this news is a shock to us, but I'm sure we can't even begin to imagine the shock that it has been to Jon and Amy.
Here is the link to Amy's site.
Let's uphold them in prayer.
