Sights around Las Vegas, NM

The primary thing you see here are is the church that used to be Las Vegas Bible Church back in the day. The plaque says, "The first Jewish house of worship in New Mexico territory moved to this site 1922." It was a synagogue before it became LVBC. Now it is a Roman Catholic chapel for the university students. The two street pictures are standing in front of the church looking down either direction. The college (bottom middle) is within walking distance.

Below is just some of the countryside in the greater surrounding area.

NM is so different...I love the pictures. Reminds me of when we lived there. Now are you going to Roswell?

The church has completely changed, except that the sawed off steeple was the doings of Grandpa Bixby and several men in the church. They took the Jewish looking dome off it and capped it with what is still there. So neat. I hope he was recognized on that plaque for that.

Mom, one lady in New Mexico said we "had" to go to Roswell for the kids' sake ... to see the alien museums! ;-) Was it UFO central when you lived there?
