Surprise Birthday Visit
Jennie's Mom and Sister surprised her last Saturday morning, having flown down from IL. It was the best birthday gift Jennie could have dreamed of. She really was dying for them to get to meet Corban. They all had a wonderful time while I was away in Rockford.
Accountability time.
This is the last day of the month.

A Day at the Biltmore
The Hanson and Tim Bixby families enjoyed a day at the luxurious Biltmore Estate. The Dodd family has season passes and were allowed to bring a number of guests for free during the month of January. So they gathered up a group of about 20 for today's outing.
We spent a few hours in the house in the morning, and then did a little exploring at the farm area later. The kids probably enjoyed the farm more than the other parts of our day, though Micaiah did think that the "special house" was pretty cool. He was most excited about the basement swimming pool, but the gargoyles and staircases peaked his interest as well.
Following our day at the Biltmore, we had pizza at the Dodds' favorite family-owned pizzeria "Ianucci's", where we experienced meatball pizza for the first time.

Best for last!
Jennie's Birthday Party
It's a tad early, but we celebrated Jennie's birthday tonight. We had a succulent meal (pork loin grilled by Tim was delicieux!), opened presents, ate a delicious cake made by Johanna, and played Cranium--guys against girls. (I won't say who won, but, in our defense, they did keep getting all the easy questions!) It was a very fun evening.

In Memory
One year ago today we were (almost) all gathered together to celebrate the homegoing of our sweet father/grandfather Lt. Col. Wilbur L. Morgan. In memory of our precious grandpa and on this first anniversary of his death and funeral, we have posted his funeral and graveside services in .mp3 format. Click here to listen or download.

It's Snowing!
Crystal went out at about 9:30 and shouted, "it's snowing" and started jumping up and down! We all were super excited--huge, soft snowflakes were falling fast and actually sticking! We are on our way to bed now at 11:30 and it is still snowing some so we have hopes of "no school tomorrow!" I have a big Cavimac meeting in town so I hope it sticks through the night. We have never seen this much snow in Bordeaux! Don't laugh all you northerners!

National Anthem at BHS
The children's choir (from school) sang the National Anthem at the girls' basketball game at Burnsville High School tonight.
We decided to make a family evening out of it and stayed and watched the game. First HS game I've seen since Eagledale.
The choir did a really nice job.
We had fun.
It was a big deal for the kids --- they thought we should bring the camera and blog about it.

Honeymoon Pictures at last!
Here are a few pictures of our honeymoon. You can see our awesome apartment right on the beach. Picture #2 we are standing right outside our door! We were able to eat most of our meals right there, and we even had a small Christmas tree! An unforgetable week:-) It's hard to believe that it has been a month already.
