Amy Sutter's Bridal Shower
Well, the Texan theme pulled off beautifully! We showered Amy with gifts on a cowgirl theme since she is moving to Texas. It went very well thanks to my cohort in crime, Judy Hurst! Ruth graciously allowed us to bombard her home, so soon after her return, so that it was close and some of the older ladies in the church could make it. We were about 35 people and had a great time. We made Amy make a cake with no recipe and it actually came out very good!

While you all were playing...
With Chris & Lydia in Vermont
Our service last Sunday was in Charlestown, NH, which is just across the Connecticut River from Vermont. Chris and Lydia took Monday off of work to spend with us. We arrived just before lunch on Monday and just relaxed and talked for hours. In the evening, the ladies and kids went to a park while the men went to a Bible study with the men of their church. It was great to see them "on their own turf" and to catch up on all their news. They really expended a lot of energy playing with M & M! We had a great time with them, and we highly recommend to the rest of you paying them a visit in the beautiful "Green Mountain State."
A day in the Country....
We had a delightful day visiting "White Pines" National Park as a relaxing day off. Visit FB for more pictures of our day. We finished up at George's for supper and changing the oil in the car. The kids loved playing in his garage!
Touring Boston!
The subway ride
I think this was Micaiah and Miriam's favorite part of the whole day--riding the "train!"Sites on the Freedom Trail
We enjoyed walking, and walking and more walking! Some of the sites included Park Street Church, site of D.L. Moody's conversion, Paul Revere's house and statue, several cemeteries where notable figures are buried, Bunker Hill Memorial, and lots more!
USS Constitution --"Old Ironsides"
We enjoyed touring several levels of the USS Constitution which is still comissioned as a Navy vessel. The oldest commissioned ship still afloat in the world, it was first launched in 1797. The security to get in was worse than an airport, but we enjoyed the free visit! Another favorite of Micaiah's!
Excursion to Quebec
Last week we received the unexpected opportunity to visit with some friends in Quebec. Ever since we knew we were coming to the New England area, we had toyed with the idea of going into Canada. At a missions conference in the beginning of April, we met the Rousseau family, home missionaries to St-Hyacinthe, Quebec. Since we didn't have a meeting last Wednesday, and since we were going to be visiting with Chris & Lydia Bixby in Vermont (more on that later), we contacted them about the possibility of heading up to Canada for a brief visit with them. The Rousseaus graciously invited us to spend some time with us, and insisted on taking us the two hours further from their place up to Quebec City. It was a strange feeling to drive to a city on this side of the ocean that speaks only French! Quebec City has a very European feel to it. We really enjoyed being there. Tim also had the opportunity to preach in French last Wednesday evening at L'Église Baptiste Maranatha. It was a great experience. Click here to see a web album of pictures from our visit to Quebec.
Two Years Ago We Started the Blog!
Aunt Donna, we want to see if the tree has grown, if it is still alive, if we should hire Grandpa and Nephew to do some landscaping and tree-planting in our yard? Post a picture!

Morning Moments
On his last morning jog, Dad was able to finally get a glimpse of a deer. Now for you all who see them in your backyard, that isn't impressive, but believe me they are not so numerous in France! And they are much more people shy. The Lord also put a beautiful rainbow in the sky that day. We are back home and dreaming of when you all will come and visit the Dordogne with us. How about our 4oth?

Discovering the Dordogne!
Dad and I ventured out today from our snug gite to discover some more of the Dordogne. It has to be the prettiest and most peaceful place in France. Our destination was la Roque-Gageac, a town that was built into the stone face of the mountain along the Dordogne River. We had lunch there at a little place with a great view. After trying all the little paths that seemed to always go up the mountain, we drove over to Castelnaud. I had been there with Jo but had not been inside. We didn't go in today either as we are saving that for when Donna gets here this summer. Then we took a beautiful tiny road to another chateau "Les Milandes." We actually went in there and then watched the "falcon" show. It was a super fun day. The only thing missing was all of you!

Mother's Day in Rockford...
The weather was nasty and cold, but the sweetness of my family made it a nice and relaxing day inside! Patience had thoughtfully crotched me a very nice dishrag, and added to it a pretty votive candle holder and lots of raspberry filled dark chocolate. What she didn't give me, so her shopping taxi-man tells me, was a "ped-egg", and collapsible measuring cups. Both ideas turned down as being too "practical". We dined at home on Swedish Pancakes and strawberries and then sent the kids to naps, dishes and R&R for Mom by 2:15!! THAT, my folks, is a great Mother's Day!!

Our week in pictures (and text)
Well, I was in Albuquerque, NM most of the week. The weather was beautiful, and I think I found America's "Ville Rose" in that many of the buildings had that pink stucco look (though, from the air one didn't see that, as you do in Toulouse).
Saturday was full with Ben's Science Fair, and the then Elise and Ben's recital.
Today, after church, we decided to go have a picnic. It is the first nice, sunny day we've had. It was only 55* but it felt like summer to us (or to me, any way - notice Brenda still wore a jacket).
We have home groups tonight. I have a full day tomorrow, and then I'm off to see my nephew on Tuesday (oh yeh, and do a little teaching gig on the side).

Congratulations, Brian!
Yesterday, Brian graduated from BJU with a Master's in Bible. He wasn't there, so it almost went un-acclaimed. He also had another honor that he was unable to accept in person. He received an award for having the highest GPA in the seminary! The "Outstanding Master's Student in Bible and Theology." Congratulations, Brian. We are so proud of you!

Science Fair
Ben and I are at the MN Western Regional Science Fair in Mankato. I took a few pictures and thought I'd post them while I'm sitting here with so much to do.
I'll let him tell you about the project more, but basically it was a study of different hull types and whether their shapes made a difference as to how much weight they could carry.
In the top pictures he is being judged (by one of many judges who interviewed him). The We have no results yet, still a while to go. We'll let you know if he wins anything!
