We had talked about going away for a one-night vacation as a family sometime after Mom & Dad returned to France, and decided
on the fly Monday night that the time had come! Within an hour, we had packed our overnight bag and had hit the road for Asheville, where we stayed in a Hampton Inn. One of our goals was to give the kids an opportunity to swim, since they hadn't had too many of those this summer. We went swimming in the hotel pool for about an hour Monday night and for a couple of hours on Tuesday morning. The kids (and their parents) really enjoyed it. We spent a little time walking around the Biltmore Village (shops near the Biltmore Estate) and ate a late lunch in the old train depot before heading back home to host dinner with a family from church in our home on Tuesday evening.

Looks like fun. I'm glad that you all got to get away for a day, even 24hrs is enough to get you refreshed!
Wow! Sorry we were so hard on you!!! But we do appreciate all your tender loving care of us the last four months. I am glad you could get away.

And, Jo, it dawned on me shortly before we returned home that if we were to die in a car accident, no one would have a clue where to start looking for us, since we hadn't told a soul where we were.
