First Day of School

It's hard to believe... they're all in school.
Believe it or not, it was a little tearful for Dad and Mom... but not for the kids!
Of course, they only have two days of school before the best vacation of their lives!!!!!
We can' t wait.
Look out, France... here we come! Posted by Picasa

As a mom, I've been dreaming of this day for years it seems, and now that it's here it's a little sad! And yet, as I drown my sorrows in my nice hot cup of java and it's totally quiet, it's not so bad! :-)

Have to admit Brenda that I'm glad that as we cross this milestone that I don't have to leave her! Not sure that my emotions would have been ready for that yet! Hope you all have a great time in France!

Hhhmmmm ... Sometimes I think my emotions could be ready a couple of years early!

Then again, probably not. That quiet house does sound pretty inviting, though. ;-)

Yes, it was really strange that we won't have any more kids to take to their first day of school. It's 'the end of an era' in a way. All I could think about was the future day of leaving them at college---boo hoo!
Isa had a great day and has been full of smiles and hugs after she stepped off of the bus. Her teacher seems really sweet. Ben and Elise have been just as excited about her first day, which has sure been fun!
I called my folks today and held up the phone and said, "Listen to this!" my mom was puzzled and said she didn't hear anything---I said---EXACTLY!!!!! QUIET! :-)

Easy as pie, Donna. :-) As I sip my coffee in my jammies. Elise has patrol, so has to ride her bike earlier, so Ben and Isa took the bus together today. I wish I could engrave in my memory the two of them walking down the sidewalk with their backpacks on to the bus stop. ADORABLE! OOPS! That's not good to talk about your own kids like that, so please forgive me. Anyway, Ben is filling his role of 'big, protective brother' very well. :-) Now that they are off, it's "Operation Pack"!
