Patience, it seems like yesterday that I got a phone call while I was teaching my first hour class to tell me that the long awaited Patience Elayne Bixby had been born. When I walked back into my class to tell them, I cried wonderful tears of joy. I couldn't wait to get down to Greenville to see our newest bundle of joy. To think: it's been SIX whole years! Happy Birthday, Dumplin'!

YIPEEE!!!! It's Patience's BIRTHDAY!!!! We are so excited that you are turning 6! The kids remembered it was your birthday as soon as they woke up this morning, but we were worried that you would still be 'Sleeping Beauty' and they had to leave for school. Hopefully, your day isn't too booked and we will be able to reach the birthday girl later on!!! WE LOVE YOU ALL OF THE WAY TO THE MOON AND BACK AGAIN!!!!!

Daddy loves you very, very much. I miss you. I am so happy that you are my little girl. I always knew God to be a very good God, but when I held you for the first time and when I hold you now I felt the tender goodness of God like I rarely do in other ways.

Unforunately her birthday plans have been altered because her little friend Evan is very sick today and we had planned on meeting them for a combined birthday/ swim party at noon today. So instead we have stayed home for a quiet day of scrapbooking.
