Okay, so it's not a theology quiz...

but it is pretty accurate (at least for me, it was). I'm from the "inland, north."

How about you?

Take the accent quiz.

OK. So my accent is from the Midlands, which they say should be interepreted, "You have no accent at all. You are probably from the Pennsylvania or Ohio, and have a great voice for TV or radio."

Go figure! I am bringing shame on my North Carolinian family and my Savannan grandmother. :-(

Ha! and don't you always say that we have accents, Ruth? Well as a true Northern I too have "no accent and a great TV voice!" LOL

I supposedly have an Inland North accent....

Hmmm?

I can't remember exactly what mine said, but it's the one that I'm from Minnesota, and that I can easily be confused with my Canadian neighbors. :-) It was dead right! I've had years to perfect my Minnesotan accent. :-) I often find reasons to say the word 'bag' and 'egg' just to 'egg' some people on!!!!!! ;-) All that to say, I didn't get the the great radio or TV voice. Bummer!

I'm actually posting a comment on the Bixby Bulletin even though I'm a non-Bixby! Is that acceptable? :)

I'm hanging in there with Ruth and Jennie--the Midlands--"no accent and a great TV voice." I think they're wrong...

Liz, since this is your first appearance on the famed Bixby Bulletin it is our aim to make it a good experience:

We really, really do think that you have a great TV and radio voice.

Mine said "West"-- the next part is funny. "Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta." Or a mid-sized southern city like Chattanooga.

Karyn,

I think what that all means is that you've got somebody totally confused! Just chalk it up to being "hard to peg."
