readin', ritin' & 'rithmatic

Just thought you might enjoy seeing how studious my family is ...

Well ... sometimes anyway.

Here they are showing off their tongues that bear the greenish/yellowish/bluish hues of the fruit rollups they have just enjoyed.

Micaiah, are you doing school? You are getting to be such a big boy...and soon you will teaching your sister to read!

You know, you and Jennie always say "too cute." How is something TOO cute? Is there a quota of cuteness that is relegated to each individual in the world and if they surpass they need to be whipped with a wet noodle? Is the standard for cuteness high enough for our family? I mean, really, we have some serious cuteness issues that will certainly exceed normal human limitations. This could be a problem.

In my book, the pictures of my sweet, beautiful nephew and niece and their, um, dad is simply cute, but of course my standard for cuteness is probably very high compared to those of you who seem to think everything is "way to cute."

We can take up this issue this weekend when we are together.

Honey, are you jealous that we blog "too cute" for a sibling of yours and still have not dished out a "too cute" comment for you? I'm sorry... please forgive. FWIW: I do think you are Too cute when you are, um.. philosophizing?? Will that work for you?

That was the first time I have ever printed off any of the teacher handout sheets from starfall.com. (Thanks for introducing us to that wonderful website, Patience!) Micaiah is really beginning to want to learn to read. It's exciting to see him growing up! He's also been really getting into the "French thing" with Auntie Donna. He now regularly identifies certain objects in French, or asks us "How do you say it in French?"

In that picture of the wetheads sitting on Miriam's bed, he had taken his own initiative to "read" to her. And he knows the book well enough that he almost was! It was a cute, spontaneous moment that I couldn't pass up.

And, of course, Miriam is still a "Monkey-see-monkey-do" kind of gal.

OK Uncle Bob.....Here we go, put 'em up pal!
The term 'too cute' means words can not encapsulate the deep emotional response when an Auntie OR UNCLE see their darling nieces and nephew. Yes, they are indeed cute. That's a nice word, but too simply stated. "They look cute", however, adding the word TOO adds to the depthness and therefore sends the message that their Auntie OR UNCLE can hardly STAND IT, they have the most adorably, cute nieces and nephews in the world, and their Auntie OR UNCLE can hardly bear their cuteness level. UNCLE Bob, they are just TOO CUTE. :-)
