July 4th in France!

We went to St. Emillion and then to Aubeterre. Aubeterre is the 2nd of 2 monolithic churches in France. It was very impressive. Very grandiose--that monument is huge and was dug out as they dug out the church. It looks tiny in the picture, but it is huge in real life! The other is a picture looking up. Just a glimpse of our day. Monday we leave for Mont St. Michel and then on to Lacey's for a visit to Normandy. I'm excited about that! Someone be sure to tell Mr. West that we are going to be there. I'll send him a postcard.

They have already been somewhere that we have never visited! But it looks like it has to be added to our "must see" list.

Great post. Have fun up in Normandy. Greg Buckland is taking his kids to Mont Sainte Michele today I think. Meredith is here in Rockford for a 20th class reunion.

How long are they in Europe for? Seems like they've been over here for a while. Too bad we're going to miss them, it would have been fun to cross paths! Tell Meredith I said Hi!

What are you going to see in Normandy? How much time do you have? I love that place and have been there many times. As for cemeteries you need to see the big American one as an American, but you have to visit the Commonwealth one as a human. It is much more poignant with many personal messages.

I'll tell her you said hi! As for their stay. They are in Holland for the summer. I think she and the kids go back the beginning of August, or end of July - not exactly sure. She has tons about it on FB.

Hey! Hope you are having a great time. Sam and I really enjoyed Mont Saint Michel and Normandy. We spent the night near MSM because there was no train leaving at night :) Beautiful area.
