Since most of you know Michael & Liz, we wanted you to know that Michael successfully defended his dissertation on Monday. His Ph.d will be conferred shortly.

I just noticed the picture behind the pose and realize the significance of it. I will be interested to read your dissertation.
You all are SO SWEET! Thanks for your support and encouragement. Michael is hoping to finish the corrections today, do one more read-through this weekend, and turn it in on Monday. There may be one more round of corrections from the records office after that (mostly formatting, I believe). We found out recently that Michael MAY have the option of walking in May '09 rather than a conferral in August. We're still finding out about that for sure but will keep you posted on what happens. Thank you SO MUCH for your prayers for us and for your love and support.
